
Old Konyak Naga Shell Earrings
• Location- Northeast India / Nagaland
• Estimated Age- early to mid 20th Century.
• Old Shell, Bamboo and Beads make up this unique pair of earrings which come from the tribe of the Konyak which are one of many throughout Nagaland. These earrings were worn exclusively by headhunters, a practice which was banned in the 1960's.
• These are decorated with motifs found on the chests of successful headhunters. These measure about 2/3/4" Tall by about 2-1/4" wide.
