Old Silver French Indochina Hmong Ear Plugs
• Location- Golden Triangle Area by way of Southern China.
• Estimated Age- Early to mid 20th Century.
• These are very rare and seldom seen and are made from Silver 20 cent French Indochina coins which were used as currency and heavily traded at one time. The coins are stamped from the year 1909 and 1921 and have a silver coiled wire throughout. Worn by the Hmong tribe, these were made into ear plugs to display wealth and to resist colonial economic pressures.
• These treasures are about 0g (8mm) with a 1/2" (12.7mm) rear flare and a 1" (25mm) front. This is the only pair that we have ever had in our collection.
