Threaded Gold and Silver Upper Ear Plugs
• Location- Gujarat, India
• Estimated Age- mid to late 20th century
• These are made from silver with an 18k gold thin sheet hammered over the faces. These have glass faceted stones in each piece and are threaded for insertion. We have seen these mostly worn in upper ear (helix area) piercings but these are also worn in ear lobes as well.
• These measure about 4g (5mm) at the wearable area while the front face is about 1-1/8" in diameter. The rear threaded flare is about 11/16".
